     The village of Kvilda is located in the center of Šumava in the district of Prachatice. Kvilda is located below the hill Antýgl and with an altitude of 1065 m2 is the second highest village in the Czech Republic. In Kvilda we can find about 30 scattered houses.
     The Hamerský stream flows through the village. Kvilda is located on a plateau with many moors and wetlands at an altitude of 1,045 - 1,090 m.n.m. Kvilda belongs to one of the highest villages in the Czech Republic and this ensures enough snow throughout the winter. There are a large number of maintained cross-country ski trails, in summer there are bike paths and marked hiking trails. In the village we can visit the neo-Gothic church of St. Štěpán. When visiting Kvilda, we must not miss the main tourist destination, which is the source of the Vltava on the eastern slope of Montenegro.
