Litovel is a small town located on the Morava River, which is nicknamed Hanácké Venice thanks to the six branches of the Morava River flowing through Litovlí.
The history of Litovle dates back to the 13th century, when the city was founded as a royal city. Over the centuries it became an important trade center and gained great importance thanks to its strategic location at the crossroads of trade routes between Prague, Olomouc and Poland.
One of the main symbols of Litovla is its historical core. A walk through the narrow streets and square full of Renaissance and Baroque houses is an unforgettable experience for visitors. The town hall is located on the main square, which is a prominent landmark and offers a wonderful view of the surroundings with its 72 m high observation tower.
In addition, you can discover many other architectural gems, such as the Church of St. James or the former Jesuit monastery. One of the most important monuments is the St. John's Bridge from 1592, which is the third oldest stone bridge in the Czech Republic after the Charles Bridge in Prague and the Bridge in Písek.
