The Mount of Olives, also known as Har HaZeitim, is one of the most important and symbolic places in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
The history of the Mount of Olives goes back thousands of years. Its name is derived from the extensive olive groves that once grew here. In the Bible, the Mount of Olives is mentioned as the place where Jesus Christ spent the last days of his life and where, according to Christian tradition, he was resurrected. For Christians, the Mount of Olives is a holy place and an important place of pilgrimage.
The Mount of Olives also has a special meaning for Jews. It is considered one of the holiest sites in Judaism. According to biblical tradition, the Temple Mount stood here, where the first and second Jewish temples were built. The ruins of the temple are still visible today on the Mount of Olives, making the site an important symbol of the Jewish people.
