Mount Olympus, also known as Olympos, is the highest mountain in Greece and one of the most important and famous mountains in Greek mythology. It is located in northern Greece, approximately 80 km southwest of Thessaloniki, and is part of the Olympic Mountains.

Mount Olympus has a peak called Mytikas, which reaches a height of 2,917 meters above sea level, making it the highest mountain in the Balkan Peninsula. Olympus is iconic not only because of its importance in mythology, but also because of its imposing silhouette and beautiful nature.

In Greek mythology, Mount Olympus was considered the seat of the Olympian gods who ruled the world. The legendary twelve Olympian gods included, for example, Zeus, Hera, Athena, Apollo and others. Olympus was considered a sacred place and was associated with religious rituals and ceremonies.
