A medieval monument - the Barbacane Castle is entirely built of lava stone and you can admire an unusual panorama from the walls. Today, various cultural events are held here and there is an archaeological museum. The territory of Pantelleria is for the most part protected by the national park of the island and falls under the province of Trapani in Sicily.

Pantelleria is a small and mysterious island located in the southern part of the Mediterranean Sea, only about 100 km from the coast of Tunisia and about 70 km from Sicily. Part of the Italian region of Sicily, the island is a popular destination for those looking for authentic Sicilian experiences and a peaceful atmosphere.

Pantelleria is of volcanic origin and at its center is an inactive volcano, Montagna Grande, which is the highest point on the island. Due to its geological origin, the island is dramatically beautiful with a unique landscape. Craters, thermal springs, volcanic fields and numerous lakes can be seen on the island, which are remnants of past eruptions.

One of the most remarkable natural phenomena in Pantelleria are the "dammusi". These are traditional Sicilian stone houses that have round roofs and are typical of this island. Dammusi were originally built as rural farms, but today some of them have been converted into tourist accommodation, providing a unique experience in a historic and authentic setting.
