Piazza del Plebiscito - Napoli
Show webcamWatch Naples online with a webcam. The webcam offers a view of Piazza del Plebiscitoi in Naples.
The Piazza del Plebiscitoi is one of the largest and most impressive in the city and is named after the plebiscite that confirmed the annexation of the Kingdom of Naples to the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1860, a key step in the creation of the modern Kingdom of Italy.
Piazza del Plebiscito is surrounded by impressive historic buildings and beautiful architecture. On one side of the square you will find the Royal Palace, which once served as the residence of the Spanish and later Bourbon kings. Its elegant facade and rich decoration are stunning and give the square a regal atmosphere.
On the opposite side of the square is the church of San Francesco di Paola, whose architecture resembles the Roman Pantheon. This church was built on the orders of King Ferdinand I and its interior is a wonderful example of the neoclassical style.
