     The South Moravian town of Mikulov is located in the district of Břeclav on the last outcrops of Pálava. Mikulov is located in the center of the Mikulov wine region. The historic center of Mikulov is a city monument reserve.

     One of the significant dominants of South Moravia we can find the Mikulov chateau standing on Zámecký vrch below the Pavlovské hills. Today, the chateau houses the Mikulov Regional Museum, which houses the largest domestic exposition of viticulture and viticulture with a unique giant wine barrel. Other monuments of the city are the church of St. St. Nicholas, Baroque Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of St. Wenceslas. You will find the Dietrichstein tomb, which was built in the middle of the 19th century, in the former church of St. Anny on the main square of Mikulov.

    As an expression of gratitude, after the end of the plague, Cardinal Dietrichstein had the chapel of St. John the Baptist built in Tanzberg in the 17th century. Šebestián (The place has since been called the Holy Hill), to which an easy path with a Baroque Stations of the Cross leads. Svatý kopeček belongs to one of the most significant natural landmarks of Mikulov. Another rocky landmark of Mikulov is Kozí hrádek.

    Mikulov has its own Jewish quarter, which is led by an educational trail with 14 stops. The only synagogue of the so-called Polish type in Moravia has been preserved here, and the Mikulov Jewish cemetery with more than 4,000 tombstones is one of the most important monuments of its kind in our country.
