The town of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Western Beskydy Mountains in the Zlín Region boasts something you won't find anywhere else. It is the Wallachian Open-Air Museum, founded by Bohumír and Alois Jaroňek. The oldest area of the museum is the Wooden Town, which has been open since 1925, which is the heart of the entire open-air museum and consists of relocated wooden houses that once surrounded Rožnov Square. The largest part of the museum is the Wallachian village - farmsteads, mountain buildings, a mill and a smithy are located in a landscape that resembles many villages on the slopes of the Beskydy Mountains. Furthermore, in the open-air museum stands the church of St. Anny and around it is a cemetery called Valašský Slavín. The museum also includes two Art Nouveau hostels Libušín and Maměnka in Pustevny, which were built according to the design of architect Dušan Jurkovič.
Throughout the year, there are many performances by craftsmen and ethnographic ensembles, festivals, craft fairs, folk festivals, reminiscent of ceremonies and customs of the locals.
You can extend your trip through Valaška village to Jurkovič's lookout tower on Charles Hill in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. In addition to the open-air museum, the ruins of Rožnov Castle on Hradisko Hill are an important archaeological monument.
In the center of Rožnov near the square with baroque statues of St. John of Nepomuk and St. Florián is home to the Baroque church of All Saints, the town also has an evangelical church, a monument to T. G. Masaryk and a monument to liberation.
An interesting feature of the town is the Rožnov Beer Spa, which is a completely new type of spa, where it tries to combine elements of healing based on the techniques of the ancient Egyptians with modern physiotherapeutic procedures. Visitors can relax here thanks to beer baths, massages, peeling and many other healing techniques.
For families with children, a great destination is the Gibon amusement park with a rope center, a large playground, trampolines, an Indian village and restaurant, or an indoor pool with a rehabilitation center.

The most beautiful part of Moravia is located in the Zlín Region. Here you will find pilgrimage church sites, unique cultural attractions, as well as preserved original nature. The Zlín Region in the western part is formed by lowlands around the largest river in the Moravian region. The Hornomoravský and Dolnomoravský valleys separate the forested hilly Chřiby with the highest point Brdo (587 m above sea level). The northern part of the region consists of Hostýnské vrchy. The beautiful town of this region is certainly Kroměříž, the former residence of the archbishops of Olomouc. Kroměříž is called Haná Athens due to its unique monuments and rich cultural life. Unique monuments brought fame to Kroměříž, especially the Archbishop's Castle and the Květná and Podzámecká Gardens. Both are inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The Kroměříž Flower Garden is a unique gem of garden architecture, one of the few gardens in Europe that has retained its original form from the time of its creation.
Other places in this region are also interesting. Buchlov Castle is a national cultural monument located in the Chřiby Mountains and is the second most visited monument in the Zlín Region. The medieval, never conquered castle is one of the largest and oldest manors in the Czech Republic.
Some tips for castles in the Zlín region: Zlín, Lešná, Buchlovice, Chropyně, Holešov, Napajedla, Vizovice and Vsetín. The Buchlovice Baroque chateau from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries is one of the most important Baroque aristocratic residences in our country.
A great attraction is the Wallachian Open-Air Museum Rožnov pod Radhoštěm is a national cultural monument. It is the largest and oldest open-air museum in Central Europe with more than a hundred listed buildings. Another place where many tourists and visitors go is an important Marian pilgrimage site Hostýn - a mountain in the Hostýn Hills. The dominant feature is the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Lovers of water sports will also find theirs here - Baťa's canal is interesting not only for paddlers. The Baťa canal is a historic waterway used today for tourist purposes. The Morava River are bordered by a cycle path more than 80 km long from Kroměříž to Hodonín. It is followed by trails and routes in the area, including the Moravian Wine Trails. The bike path is ideal for families with children, seniors and can also be used by skaters and tourists.
