The Slovácko village of Vlčnov is located in the Uherské Hradiště district in the Zlín Region, in the middle of a basin on the last outcrops of the White Carpathians. Vlčnov became famous for its folklore custom maintained for generations for many centuries, the so-called Ride of the Kings, which is a folk festival held on the last Sunday in May. This is the oldest and most famous Slovak ethnographic festival with beautiful costume equipment. The festivities are preceded by long preparations, the royal retinue attends the ball and also the Easter procession. In addition to the traditional riding of boys on bent horses, other newer programs are added to the ancient custom - performances by folklore ensembles, concerts of wind and dulcimer music or a fair of folk crafts. The whole festival lasts from Friday evening to Sunday.
Of the local monuments, it is worth mentioning a number of monuments of folk architecture with a unique area of wine sheds, which are a village monument reserve. Monuments of folk architecture are also houses No. 121, 301, 65, 770 and 80, and the chamber at No. 47. The dominant feature of the village is the Roman Catholic Church of St. James the Elder from the 13th century.
For active tourists there is the possibility to use two bike paths. One leads to Velká Javořina and the Uherskohradišť wine trail follows the Moravian wine trail. In summer there is the opportunity to spend free time in the newly renovated summer swimming pool with the possibility of night swimming. The swimming pool offers visitors a swimming pool for adults, a children's pool, a rope center for children, a beach volleyball court, sun terraces or a snack bar.
There is no problem with refreshments in the village, there are several restaurants, wine bars, pubs and stylish wine cellars of local winemakers. Above the village Vlčnov stands a wooden lookout tower Hráběcí, which is connected with hiking and biking trails.

The most beautiful part of Moravia is located in the Zlín Region. Here you will find pilgrimage church sites, unique cultural attractions, as well as preserved original nature. The Zlín Region in the western part is formed by lowlands around the largest river in the Moravian region. The Hornomoravský and Dolnomoravský valleys separate the forested hilly Chřiby with the highest point Brdo (587 m above sea level). The northern part of the region consists of Hostýnské vrchy. In the eastern part, bordering Slovakia, you can visit Javorníky and the White Carpathians, where the highest peak is Velká Javořina (970 m above sea level).
Tourists often visit the Zlín region because of the spa, the most famous and very beautiful are Luhačovice. It is located in a beautiful park with a romantic castle Lešná. The whole area is divided according to continents. An attractive novelty for visitors is the Bay of Stingrays - a unique exhibition in the whole of Europe.
The beautiful town of this region is certainly Kroměříž, the former residence of the archbishops of Olomouc. Kroměříž is called Haná Athens due to its unique monuments and rich cultural life. Unique monuments brought fame to Kroměříž, especially the Archbishop's Castle and the Květná and Podzámecká Gardens. Both are inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The Kroměříž Flower Garden is a unique gem of garden architecture, one of the few gardens in Europe that has retained its original form from the time of its creation.
Other places in this region are also interesting. Buchlov Castle is a national cultural monument located in the Chřiby Mountains and is the second most visited monument in the Zlín Region. The medieval, never conquered castle is one of the largest and oldest manors in the Czech Republic.
Some tips for castles in the Zlín region: Zlín, Lešná, Buchlovice, Chropyně, Holešov, Napajedla, Vizovice and Vsetín. The Buchlovice Baroque chateau from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries is one of the most important Baroque aristocratic residences in our country.
A great attraction is the Wallachian Open-Air Museum Rožnov pod Radhoštěm is a national cultural monument. It is the largest and oldest open-air museum in Central Europe with more than a hundred listed buildings. Another place where many tourists and visitors go is an important Marian pilgrimage site Hostýn - a mountain in the Hostýn Hills. The dominant feature is the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Lovers of water sports will also find theirs here - Baťa's canal is interesting not only for paddlers. The Baťa canal is a historic waterway used today for tourist purposes. The Morava River are bordered by a cycle path more than 80 km long from Kroměříž to Hodonín. It is followed by trails and routes in the area, including the Moravian Wine Trails. The bike path is ideal for families with children, seniors and can also be used by skaters and tourists.
