Havlíčkův Brod is known for its monuments and celebrities. In addition to the personality of Karel Havlíček Borovský, according to whom the town got its name, other famous people lived here - for example Josef Dobrovský and Bedřich Smetana.
People go to Nové Město na Moravě mainly for sports. It is the Mecca of Czech biathlon and in the summer the World Cup of mountain bikes is held here again.
In Pelhřimov, visitors can see the Museum of Records and Curiosities. Children in the museum of ghosts will also enjoy themselves.
Telč, often called the Pearl of South Moravia, Moravian Venice or Bílá Telč, is definitely worth a visit. The historic core of Telč is a city monument reserve and is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Moravian district town of Třebíč can also be proud of the monuments inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The basilica and the Jewish quarter are worth a visit, the Jewish cemetery is one of the largest in the country.
Žďár nad Sázavou is known mainly for the pilgrimage church of St. Jan Nepomucký on Zelená hora, the work of Jan Blažej Santini Aichl, who is also registered in UNESCO.
Among the sought-after historical monuments of the Vysočina region is especially the already mentioned church of St. Jan Nepomucký on Zelená hora in Žďár nad Sázavou, Želiv monastery, castles Pernštejn, Kámen, Roštejn, Zubštejn and Lipnice nad Sázavou, as well as castles Budišov, Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Náměšť nad Oslavou, Telč and Žirovnice.
